Panthera Pardus

Caught this on camera today in the heart of Devon. Now becoming rare but
this fine example has been out hunting all day.

Shall I tell a story ??

Having a drink before she escaped.

She decided to see what life was really like outside of the quarry.
I gave chase but every time I found a spot to catch her, she roared past.

Thanks to a tip off I found her hiding in a garage in Halwill Junction !

The Leopard realised that she might as well lay back and enjoy it as a well known Leopard admirer poked and prodded all her underparts as well as her eyes etc.

Her keepers had obviously looked after her and on their advice the Leopard was presented with a certificate from the MOT saying she had gained a Class V award.

So she was offered a new home in the fields and woods of Devon..........

The Leopard meets another of the Ian Byrne family - the ex Plymouth Aunty-lion.

As you may guess Ian Byrne successfully won the Wood's Leopard on E-bay. On Monday he asked me to help collect her and take her to Winkleigh.
Reports from Roger Wood indicated that she was indeed a runner and a good one with a good chance of gaining an MOT. Now if you drive to a prebooked MOT the vehicle need not be taxed but it must be insured. That was easily fixed.

You can imagine Ian's face when he learnt that she was indeed up to the standards required of a class V, even the brakes on the rolling road were excellent.

So there we are. Perhaps it is true that fairy tales come true !

About me

Retired and still active in a couple of hobbies that have kept me going for 55 years ! Photography, particularly buses and coaches kept me occupied as the main interest. It lasted until 2004 when my wife died and I decided to spend the family "silver". That led me into actually preserving buses and the fleet currently stands at 12 !
