2009 Resolutions

Soon a new year will begin and I like many others will try a few resolutions hopefully to improve areas of my life.

The past year has been very enjoyable but always there was the conflict between what was wanted and what was possible ! There never was enough time.

So in 2009 you will see changes that will release time seeing I cannot create any more !

Gradually over 2008 I have had to withdraw from posting photos to many groups. This will continue. I can communicate to a wider audience through the methods that Graham Richardson introduced me to over a year ago.

So... tgprojects will focus on the results of scanning a large collection of negatives. Most of the prints were destroyed as the quality was poor. Now 10 years on... we have the technology !

I hope over the year to piece together the fleets of smaller local operators. Here is an example of one. Radmores Coaches the trading name of John Williams of Plympton. More later on the fleet.

This is one of 15 Leyland Cubs with Optare bodies supplied new to WYPTE

The chassis produced in 1979 saw the re-intoduction of the Cub name. Expect a blog with known deatils and photos during 2009 !

Some photos have been forgotten but their importance is gradually coming to light. Here was just another Iveco !

2087  L947 EOD  Ft 59-12 2091403 Me 01215  B26D 5/94 w5/94
2088  L948 EOD  Ft 59-12 2102045 Me 01216  B26D 5/94 w5/94

L947/8 EOD : were used on service with Devon General OLN's for the
'Devon County Show' 25/5/94 to 28/5/94, in blue and
             purple livery, no fleetnames.
             to Thames Transit (H) 2087/8 6/94

I have always been interested in the "heavy weights" and the MOD. Think this was taken at what I now know as Cobbaton, a location on the list for further investigation.

Another mystery at present. 2008 saw Googleing become a way of life and I look forward to hours of trying to find out about vehicles such as this !

Most of the scans will be placed on my Flickr site in due course.

The blogs will hopefully be more frequent.

Keep an eye on

This blog my main channel of communication

This will be the old "Five a day" photo blog and will roughly be themed images.

I will be giving this much more attention in the coming year where I will not only feature the current fleet but those that have come and gone.

At present comments are not permitted after some abuse of the system, but I am reviwing this.

About me

Retired and still active in a couple of hobbies that have kept me going for 55 years ! Photography, particularly buses and coaches kept me occupied as the main interest. It lasted until 2004 when my wife died and I decided to spend the family "silver". That led me into actually preserving buses and the fleet currently stands at 12 !
