History on the Move

The Great Gillingham Gathering

10th anniversary

This event was started in 1999 as a tribute to Phil Bailey, our first chairman who sadly passed away a short time after the birth of CTP in September of 1998.
Gillingham was his home along with Mary, our current vice-chair and son Peter.

It was felt by many after this sad affair that “something should be done” and so the idea of this gathering was suggested and has just grown from strength to strength, like everything to do with CTP.

It is based on two simple parts:

A short road run from Warminster Central Car Park.
Starting at 10.00am
Over the years this has attracted a diverse collection vehicles and
owners from far and wide

Warminster. Terry and I took the Leopard Towbus RV1 "Harvey"

Secondly

Centred around Nick Bakers Garage
Hot pasties, cake and coffee
Fair organs, live steam
Friendship and fun
All from about 11am until 1.00pm

About me

Retired and still active in a couple of hobbies that have kept me going for 55 years ! Photography, particularly buses and coaches kept me occupied as the main interest. It lasted until 2004 when my wife died and I decided to spend the family "silver". That led me into actually preserving buses and the fleet currently stands at 12 !
