Elites and Supremes

A selection caught on camera in Malta March 2007.

FBY 048 Bristol LH6L Supreme C45F new as WJN 22S to Boon, Boreham. Now fitted with a Perkins engine. Quite original. Now fitted with a Plaxton clock that I sent to Gozo !

EBY 497 Bedford YRQ new as JWX 93N to Wallace Arnold 5/75 but came to Malta from Lockeys, Bishop Auckland, hence the name !

FBY 706 a Bedford YRQ with a Panorama Elite body dating from 5/73. New as PGW 683L. Came to Malta from Kirkbright, Colne

DBY 354 a Bedford YRQ with a Supreme IV body . New as TEJ 102T to Evans, Penrhyncoch 5/79

EBY 626 a Bedford YLQ with a Supreme body. Originally CAA 840R new 7/77 to Razey, Thruxton.

FBY683 a Bedford YMT with a much modified Supreme body ! New as STA 259R in 4/77 to Snell, Newton Abbot.

EBY 491 Bedford YRQ with a fairly original Elite body. New as LBR 270N in 7/75 to Gypsy Queen,Langley Park. Note that she still retains the skirt trim. (The straight side trim identifies the Elite generally, Supremes had a kick here over the wheel arch.

EBY 604 Ford R1014 with a Elite body somewhat modified and carrying a Panoram badge. (They were Panorama Elites when introduced). This is JDS 644N new 3/75 to Taylor, Derby. The body number would suggest a 1974 build.

EBY 611 A classic Supreme but the chassis badge is misleading ! This is in fact a Bristol LH6L new as RDE 298S ,1/78 , to Silcox, Pembroke Dock 146 . Note the "kick" over the wheel arch that Supremes had.

EBY 577 Bedford YLQ with another classic Supreme body. This time without the "Bristol Dome". New as OHY 790R new 5/1977 to Thomas,Barry

EBY 558 Bedford YLQ new as NVA 45R in 11/76 to Miller, Foxton

About me

Retired and still active in a couple of hobbies that have kept me going for 55 years ! Photography, particularly buses and coaches kept me occupied as the main interest. It lasted until 2004 when my wife died and I decided to spend the family "silver". That led me into actually preserving buses !
